Traditional varicose vein surgery involves general anaesthesia and a scar in the groin or behind the knee. At least 10-20% of patients experience a recurrence of these veins. Key-hole surgery is an exciting option to treat these challenging cases of varicose vein recurrence as treatment can be delivered via a site remote from the previously operated wound thereby limiting the risk of wound related complications like infection, non-healing, lymph leak or chronic pain.
